Aaryavir Sehwag named in India U19 squad for Australia series
Aaryavir Sehwag, the son of Indian batting legend Virender Sehwag, has been selected for the India U19 squad to face Australia in three One-Day matches in September in Rajkot.
Aaryavir, a right-handed batter, recently played for the West Delhi Lions in the ongoing Delhi Premier League 2026, where his attacking strokeplay drew comparisons with his father. When he smashed 297 against Meghalaya in the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy, he made headlines.
Also in the One-Day squad is wicketkeeper Anvay Dravid, who has retained his spot following an impressive 87 during the U19 team’s tour of Sri Lanka in July. Aaryavir and Anvay, on the other hand, have not been included in the squad for the two Multi-Day matches.
India's opener Lakshya Raichandani will be in charge of the One-Day internationals, and Yashbardhan Chauhan, who captained India during the tour of Sri Lanka, will be in charge of the match in his place. However, for the Multi-Day leg, the two players will switch roles.
In the three One-Day matches that will take place in Rajkot on September 18, 21, and 23, India will face Australia. Rajkot will also host first Multi-Day fixture from September 27-30, while the second Multi-Day fixture will take place in Ahmedabad (B Ground) from October 5-8.
