Amol Muzumdar named India women head coach

Amol Muzumdar, the former Mumbai batter, has been named head coach of the India women's national team.

"This is a tremendous obligation and I anticipate working intimately with capable players and furnishing them with the right planning and direction to succeed," Muzumdar said in a BCCI proclamation. "The following two years are critical as two World Cups are planned for the period. Along with the training and care staff, we will hope to mark each case and allow ourselves the best opportunity to succeed."

The assertion added that the three-part cricket warning advisory group of the BCCI had talked with the shortlisted candidates for the position and collectively suggested Muzumdar for the job.

The position had been empty since December 2022, when Ramesh Powar was suddenly eliminated as a feature of BCCI's "rebuilding module" two months in front of the T20 World Cup in South Africa. From that point forward, Hrishikesh Kanitkar has been in the top work in a break limit, administering the group for the home T20I series against Australia in December last year, the tri-series in South Africa, the T20 World Cup recently as well as the Asian Games, in which India won the gold decoration, in September. Previous India bowler Nooshin Al Khadeer was the break lead trainer during the white-ball visit through Bangladesh in July.

Muzumdar has been a functioning mentor since he called time on a 21-year five star profession during which he became one of the greatest run-getters in the Ranji Prize. Following 15 years with Mumbai, he moved to Assam in 2009 and later to Andhra.

He amassed 11,167 runs from 171 top notch coordinates with 30 centuries, yet never had the opportunity to address India. He proceeded to come out on top for eight Ranji Prize championships with Mumbai.

After his retirement, he has trained age-bunch sides at the BCCI's Public Cricket Foundation, has been in charge for Mumbai, and has been important for the instructing staff at Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, and with South Africa during their visit through India in 2019.
