In what is a strong blow for Sri Lanka, Angelo Mathews, the Sri Lankan all-rounder, tried positive for COVID-19 late on the second day of the primary Test against Australia and has been controlled out of the continuous Test in Galle. Oshada Fernando has come in as Mathews' substitution, who was feeling unwell after play on the subsequent day.
"Angelo Mathews tried positive for Covid-19," a SLC proclamation said on Friday (July 1). "He was viewed as certain during a Rapid Antigen test led on the player yesterday. The test was finished, as the player was feeling unwell. Appropriately, he has been confined from the remainder of the colleagues and is following Covid-19 conventions."
Australia's lower request contributed with convenient arrives later than expected in the innings as the guests took their lead to 109 preceding being bowled out for 321.
