Anushka, Yastika to lead India A in home series against Australia A

Yastika Bhatia will lead the India A T20 team in the one-day matches and a one-off multi-day match of the upcoming multi-format series against Australia A. Anushka Sharma has been named captain of the team. The BCCI said on Thursday that the series would take place in September and October.

Anushka, who has played three T20Is, previously led India A in the England T20s in June, having made her T20I debut in April. She will be in charge of the team, which also includes 22-year-old Sujata Dey, a Bengal batter who, in June of this year, became the first woman to score a century in the Bengal T20 League.

Ine the one-day squad, Anushka will serve as the deputy to , who made a long-awaited return to the national team in May this year after an injury layoff. She scored a century in the second innings of the historic Lord's Test last month.

Shubha Satheesh, Sushree Dibyadarshini, Shuchi Upadhyay, and Mamata Madiwala have been picked exclusively for the one-off red-ball game.

The Australia A team will travel to India for three T20 matches, as many one-day games, and a game over multiple days. New Chandigarh will host the Twenty20 tournament, while Dharamsala will host the one-day tournament and the four-day match.
