Former Australia wicketkeeper Peter Nevill announces retirement

Previous Australian wicketkeeper Peter Nevill has called time on his expert profession on Friday (April 1). Nevill hasn't been on the field since February this year with a shoulder injury finishing his season right on time for New South Wales.

"I generally realize that I was near the finish of my profession," Nevill said. "It was a disappointing season for me, I think I've missed a bigger number of games this season because of injury than the remainder of my profession consolidated. I'm exceptionally pleased that I had the option to play for Australia, and that I had the option to play for so long for New South Wales. I might want to feel that I had the option to extract as much squeeze from my orange as possible. For a chap with negligible ability and no shots, I leave the game pretty satisfied."

Nevill made his bow for Australia in the 2015 Ashes where he scored 45 with the bat in his side's gigantic win at the Lord's. He proceeded to play eight additional Tests, with his latest appearance coming in November 2016 against South Africa in Hobart. Australia lost that Test and the series with a game in excess and Nevill was one of the setbacks as he lost his spot to Matthew Wade. Despite the fact that he never played ODI cricket for Australia, Nevill was picked in the T20I side multiple times in his short worldwide vocation.
