Georgia Voll unbeaten ton powers Australia to series win against Bangladesh

Megan Schutt's 4 for 36 and Georgia Voll's unbeaten 131 off 97 helped Australia defeat Bangladesh by nine wickets in the second ODI at Allan Border Field in Brisbane, giving the hosts an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Overshadowing Sobhana Mostary's record-breaking 118, the first century by a Bangladeshi woman against Australia, Australia chased down 221 in just 28.1 overs.

Voll reached a 34-ball fifty in the 10th over when he took Ritu Moni for four fours. In the 13th over, the openers reached their hundred stand. Phoebe Litchfield scored 70 runs off 51 deliveries to reach her own half-century, but she was caught by Shorna Akter's leg-spin, ending a huge first stand of 162.

After that, Voll and Ellyse Perry took the next wicket together, scoring an unbeaten 60 runs as Australia cruised home to win the series.

In contrast, Bangladesh's start was painfully slow, with the first runs scored in the fourth over. They had fallen to 8 for 3 in the eighth over thanks to Schutt bowling Sharmin Akhter, Kim Garth trapping Sarmin Sultana, and then getting Fargana Hoque caught behind.

After that, Sobhana and captain Nigar Sultana worked together to make an enormous 195-run stand for the fourth wicket, which was the highest partnership for any wicket against Australia in women's one-day internationals. Sobhana scored fifty off 66 balls and her first international century off 123, while Nigar anchored the opposing end with a half-century off 97 balls.

In the 48th over, a Schutt full toss bowled Sobhana for 118, and Bangladesh lost three wickets for 11 runs to finish with 220 for 6.
