Hardik Pandya ruled out of New Zealand game with ankle injury

Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of India's next World Cup game, against New Zealand in Dharamsala on Sunday. The allrounder had limped off the field after hurting his left ankle against Bangladesh in Pune.

"He won't be taking the trip to Dharamsala with the group on twentieth October and will presently join the group straightforwardly in Lucknow where India play Britain," the BCCI said in a media discharge. "He is exhorted rest and will be under the steady management of the BCCI clinical group."

The episode occurred in the 10th over of Bangladesh's innings while, attempting to handle a ball in his completion, Hardik seemed to wind his lower leg. He was taken for examines and took no further part in the match.

"He pulled up a piece sore," Rohit Sharma said at the post-match show. "There's no significant harm. That is really great for us. Yet, truly, with a physical issue like that, you must survey consistently. So we simply trust that he pulls up well tomorrow first thing. And afterward we will evaluate, whatever is expected as far as we're concerned to do collectively, that's what we'll do."
