Morris released from Australia Test squad to play BBL

Lance Morris has been released from the Australia Test squad to play in the BBL following the first Test against Pakistan in Perth with the group being cut to 13 for the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.

There was energy around Morris possibly making his Test debut in Perth yet with Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood all getting back from the ODI World Cup in brilliant shape, and Scott Boland being held for possible later use, Morris will be sent back to the BBL to be accessible for Perth Scorchers' conflict with Hobart Tropical storms on December 20 at Optus Arena.

Boland stays inaccessible for Melbourne Stars as he stays on backup as the principal bowling save for the subsequent Test.

"Spear has been delivered for the Melbourne match yet will remain ready for Test cricket as he remains immovably in our arrangements for the late spring, should an open door emerge," public selector George Bailey said.

There has been a few back and forth in the background between Cricket Australia and the BBL clubs over accessibility of periphery Australia players. Brisbane Intensity were extremely disappointed by losing four players to the Head of the state's XI group for the initial two matches of the time to where Michael Neser was set free from the PM's XI to play in the Intensity's BBL opener against Stars.

Melbourne Mavericks mentor David Saker communicated shock at Boland's being administered out of the BBL opener for the Stars.

Cameron Green doesn't have a BBL agreement and will stay with the crew as twelfth man with occupant allrounder Mitchell Swamp keeping up with his place for the initial Test against Pakistan where he was named Player of the Match.

In the mean time, Victoria have named three Test players in Marcus Harris, Peter Handscomb and Will Pucovski to play in a two-day visit match against Pakistan at the Intersection Oval in Melbourne leading the pack up to the subsequent Test. The Victoria XI will be involved players who don't have BBL bargains, including those three.

Australia squad for Melbourne Test David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Cameron Green, Scott Boland
