Pat Cummins has been named as Australia's new ODI commander following the retirement of Aaron Finch. Cummins as of now has administration experience having captained the Test side also.
With one year to go for the following ODI World Cup, the choice which was declared on Tuesday, October 18 by Cricket Australia, holds a ton of importance.
"I have completely delighted in playing under Finchy and have gained a huge sum from his administration. They are critical shoes to fill despite the fact that we are very lucky to have a one-day crew with an enormous measure of involvement," Cummins was cited as saying in a Cricket Australia media discharge.
Remarking on the arrangement, the Seat of Selectors George Bailey said: "Pat has worked really hard since assuming the captaincy of the Test side and we anticipate him driving the one-day group to the 2023 World Cup in India."
Australia are booked to play Britain in three ODIs beginning from November 17, not long after the T20 World Cup and afterward are set to take on South Africa at home in January.
